Speak for the Unborn (S4U) is a ministry of the local church that seeks to bring the gospel of Jesus Christ to bear on the issue of abortion. Founded in 2009, this ministry came in response to a Sanctity of Life Sermon preached at Immanuel Baptist Church in Louisville, KY. Biblical conviction led members of Immanuel to begin speaking the gospel at Louisville’s only abortion clinic. Over the years, this ministry has grown in cooperation with other local churches to form the nationwide S4U Network.
S4U equips local, evangelical churches to be voices for life in their communities through comprehensive, pro-life strategies. We provide training and resources for locals churches to come alongside women and men considering abortion. A primary component is the implementation of our winsome, gospel-centered sidewalk counseling ministry. Sidewalk counseling includes engaging the women and men walking into the abortion clinic with gospel compassion and practical help. S4U Network churches seek to share the hope of the gospel, as well as real alternatives to abortion. Like Paul, these churches are prepared to not only share the gospel of God, but their own selves with these women and men (1 Thess 2:8).
S4U Network churches are equipped to disciple the women and men they meet at the abortion clinics who chose life. S4U churches come alongside pregnancy resource centers, and other gospel-centered organizations, to connect women and men to the life of the local church. We know the best place for them to find and grow in a relationship with Jesus is in a local church. These churches are also prepared to serve post-abortive women and men through discipleship and healing in the gospel and faithful community.
Our great hope is that the Lord would use local churches across the country to bring hope to the hopeless, speaking for life in their communities. If you are interested in partnering with the S4U Network, visit our 10-City Strategy page.
